Job Summary:
The E.S. Academy Trainee program is used to prepare incumbents for performing public safety work involving the protection of life and property and the delivery of Dawson County Emergency Services programs. Preparation involves training in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), fire suppression, and emergency and nonemergency incident response. An E.S. Academy Trainee must demonstrate the ability to use fire suppression and emergency medical services skills in accordance with the State of Georgia and National Registry standards. The Trainee position is also responsible for performing other related duties as required.
The Academy will be a 40-hour per week program with full-time benefits. Once trainee has become fully certified, they will promote to an assigned shift rotation (approx. 53 hours per week) with an annual salary of $59,208.91; plus, $1 per hour med unit incentive.
Job Requirements:
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, possess a GED or high school diploma; must have a valid Driver’s License and must obtain Class E or F Driver’s License within 1 year; must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR); must meet all in-house testing requirements; must pass a background check and drug screening.
