Planning Commission - Next meeting will be held January 21, 2025

The Planning Commission reviews and renders decisions concerning Variances to Dawson County's Land Use Regulations and other ordinances. The Commission is also called upon to recommend action to the Board of Commissioners regarding requests for land use amendments (rezoning) of real property. Each district Commissioner and the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners appoint members to the Commission.

The Planning Commission typically meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Dawson County Government Center, Assembly Room 2303, 25 Justice Way, Dawsonville, Georgia. There are occasions when applications are withdrawn. Please check with staff regarding changes to the agenda at 706-344-3500 Extension 42255. The public is welcome to attend.

PUBLIC HEARING MEETING SCHEDULE 2025

The following are the deadlines for application submission. Due to the requirement to publish legal advertisements and post signs, if an application does not meet the required deadline, it will still be accepted however not scheduled for a public hearing. Only complete applications will be placed on the schedule for a public hearing. Regional Impact (DRI) developments require an extended timeline due to the regional review and the analysis of the transportation impacts.
