Job Summary:
The purpose of this classification is to supervise a shift of paid and volunteer staff that is assigned to a station, as well as those Lieutenants assigned to that shift. To respond to emergency calls, providing supervision for emergency responses, assure appropriate documentation is completed for the efficient operation fo the company, to provide training and other assigned duties
Job Requirements:
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and possess a GED or high school diploma. Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ career experience with Dawson County. Georgia State Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A or EMT-I). Georgia State Firefighter’s Certification and NPQ FF II. All prerequisites for Lieutenant plus: NPQ Fire Officer II and Fire Instructor II. NPQ Hazardous Materials Operations, NPQ FAO, NIMS 100-400, NPQ Evaluator. Must meet all in-house career matrix and testing requirements. Applicant must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), along with the ability to obtain a valid driver’s license issue by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Applicant must pass a background check and drug screen.
