SPLOST VI

Dawson County voters approved a continuation of the 1% Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) during November 2014 for another six years beginning July 1, 2015 until June 30, 2021 to generate $46,000,000. A total of 7,212 citizens voted, 5,074 (70%) for the SPLOST and 2,138 (30%) against the SPLOST. At the time of the referendum, the county had 13,300 registered voters. Therefore, the referendum had a 54.2% voter turn-out rate. Below is the list of approved projects to be funded by SPLOST VI.
