Notice of Intent
Any project involving more than one acre of disturbed area or within 200 feet of the bank of any state waters requires the submittal of an Erosion Control Plan. The approved erosion control plan is your land disturbance permit and is a component of the application for a building permit. State waters exclude channels and drainage ways with water only during and immediately after rainfall events and intermittent streams without water year-round. However, the responsible party must prevent sediment from moving beyond the property's boundaries.
Required if:
- You are in an EPD classified Common Development (no matter the size of the lot).
- You are within 200 feet of any state waters.
- You are clearing/grading an acre or more of land (including the driveway).
You must file the Notice of Intent with the Environmental Protection Division of the State of Georgia at https://epd.georgia.gov/complete-process-submitting-notice-intent-noi-us...
A copy of the NOI (Notice of Intent) must be provided to Dawson County for permit release.
